5 Second Spacebar Test

This test measures how many times you can press the spacebar in 5 seconds. Same idea as a click test, but for your keyboard. Five seconds is the sweet spot—long enough to measure speed, short enough to avoid fatigue.

Tap Start and hit the spacebar as fast as you can. Your score appears when the 5 seconds end. Your TPS (taps per second) = total taps ÷ 5. Average is around 5–7 TPS.

Why 5 Seconds?

Five seconds is a standard burst test. It measures peak speed without endurance. Comparable to 5-second click tests.

Why it matters Performance

5 Second Spacebar Tips

01

Thumb only. Don't use multiple fingers—it slows you down.

02

Hit the center. Edge presses can feel sluggish.

03

Go all out. It's only 5 seconds—no need to pace.

5 Second TPS Benchmarks

Frequently Asked Questions

What's a good 5-second score?

30+ taps (6 TPS) is solid. 40+ (8 TPS) is strong. 50+ (10 TPS) is elite.

Spacebar vs click test?

Spacebar usually scores lower. Thumb speed differs from finger clicking. Both are valid benchmarks.
